For this project we used our 2019 WRX. We needed more light on the front in order to see down our dark roads. Living in the desert it gets real dark with no ambient light around. YES!! we know the car is dirty, it's a rally car with 5 miles of dirt for a driveway. Clean pictures to come...

I already started wiring before I realized is should start taking pictures.

Using a Standard 12v relay, I used 2 pin waterproof connectors being these would be exposed to all the elements.

Wire the relay Batt+ to pin30, pin87 to +Leds (run the leds in parallel) ground leds to chassis.

Trigger: 5-12v (LOW CURRENT) to pin85, pin86 to ground

the wires had been measured for the car. Fuse is wired in. The fuse is a 20A standard automotive 2 blade found at any parts store.

batt+, ground chassis.

always wire in a fuse or circuit breaker for any additional circuit being added to a car

the interior of my car is black with red stitch. kind of hard to see, but i found this wire loom that is a black and red weave.

Harness completed ready for install.

4 simple connections, i wired my trigger to the high beams. when i turn the high beams on, the trigger energizes the relay which allows this harness to power the leds.

i did not want to deal with a separate switch, so the high beam wire also connects to my pin85 (trigger). no additional load is on the stock lighting system when done this way.

Pulled back the front of the bumper to remove the top bumper brace. This brace makes a perfect mount for the lights.

make sure that the wire harness clears any sharp metal edges.

if it doesn't the fuse is going to see some action.

this is not the time for banana ramming!

all connected, updated picture soon to come

routed the harness away from any sharp areas. zip tied the harness to the chassis.

you can actually see the red and black in this one

Final test before securing the harness. I have these set up, the 2 center fronts point straight forwards while the 2 outer ones are angles to illuminate anything off the road.
